TAKE SAMPLE FOR
LABORATORY ANALYSIS
Test Equipment:
Laboratory Sample bottle minimum 1 litre to achieve a reasonable representative
sample. Karl Fischer Coulomb-meter or Equivalent.
Procedure:
a) Ensure that
Flow has stopped through the desired stream.
b) Once flow
has ceased through the stream, it must be left for 4 - 6 hours to stabilise and
any water content to separate.
c) A sample of
the Oil must be taken from the Highest point available and as near to the
monitor as feasibly possible and taken to the Chemists Laboratory for
analysis.(Preferably in the morning).
d) Obtain the
BS&W results from this sample from the Chemist's Laboratory.
e) Enter the
results of the sample into the unit following the Manufacturer data on Setup
and calibration.
f) Allow the
temperature to rise or fall by at least 3 Deg C and perform steps c) though to
e) again, the unit will auto compensate for the temperature change to establish
a constant which will distinguish between temperature effect on the probe and
actual contamination by water and sediment.
g) Return the
unit to normal operation and resume flow through the stream.
18. Sign-off
Work Permit and return to operations.
19. Report all
findings to supervision and document in CMMS.
