Annual Function Check and Calibration of Pressure Low Low Switches (SWITCH PRESSURE DIFFERENTIAL LOW) PDSLL
TASKS TO BE
PERFORMED:
1. Annual
Function Check and Calibration of Pressure Low Low Switches.
2. Inspect
Switch for any physical damage.
3. Ensure
Switch is securely mounted.
4. Check
impulse line is securely fastened.

gland is secure.
Pressure
Switches, to be calibrated against hand held Digital Druck Comparator or
Pressure Pump.
Use an Accurate
Test gauge with a range suitable for the device being tested.
10. Isolate
Switch from process and de-pressurise.
11. Check that
the Low Low Pressure Alarm has been received in control Room.
12. Connect
pressure source and apply pressure to the switch to above the required set point
and ensure alarm has reset in control room.
13. Slowly
decrease pressure to the required set point.
14. Check that
the Switch has activated. Adjust as required.
15. Check that
the Low Low Pressure Alarm has been received in control Room.
16. Increase
pressure slowly till alarm resets and in order to check the hysteresis on the
switch.
17. Repeat step
10 to 15 till correct set point has been obtained.
18. Complete
Instrument Calibration Sheet.
19. Ensure all
drain point is securely closed off.
20. Check all
disturbed connections for leaks using soap solution.
21. Complete
Instrument Calibration Sheet.
22. Affix
calibrated switch with label giving date of calibration and tag number.
23. De-isolate
sensing line and close by-pass valve.
24. Return
Pressure switch to service.
26. Sign-off
Work Permit and return to operations.
27. Report all
findings to supervision and document in CMMS.
