Annual Function Check and Calibration of COMPRESSOR GAS IP/HP PROCESS & associated Equipments Instruments
TASKS TO BE
PERFORMED:
1. Annual Function Test and
Calibration of MAGNETROL LEVEL SWITCH LOW ALARM.
2. Inspect Level Switch for any
physical damage.
3. Ensure Level Switch is
securely mounted.
4. Inspect electrical signal
cable for any physical damage.
5. Check cable gland and
terminal box cover are secure.
6. Remove Level switch cover and
inspect switch mechanism
MERCURY SWITCHES
7. Visually inspect Switches for
any short circuit damage.
8. Check for small cracks in the
glass tube containing the mercury.
9. Check all terminations are
secure.
NOTE: These cracks will allow
the entrance of air into the tube causing the mercury to oxidise and appear dirty.
If this condition is found
replace switch immediately.
DRY CONTACT SWITCHES
10. Visually inspect switches
for excessive wear on actuating lever.
11. Visually inspect switches
for misalignment of adjusting screw at point of contact between screw and lever.
12. Adjust mechanism to
compensate for this condition.
If this cannot be corrected
replace switch immediately.
13. Isolate Level Switch Low
from the process by closing the bridle manual isolation valves.
14. Drain the process fluid from
the float chamber to a pre-determined level where the the Low Alarm should have
activated. Tee in clear plastic pipe and strap to chamber in order to view
level indication.
15. Close the float drain valve.
16. Check that the Switch has
activated. Adjust as required.
17. Check that the Low Alarm has
been received in control Room.
18. If adjustment are made in
step 16, using a hand pump, refill the float switch chamber with process fluid or
liquid of an equivalent S.G. and repeat steps 14 through 17 till the correct
setting is obtained.
19. Complete Instrument
Calibration Sheet.
20. Ensure all drain points are
securely closed off.
21. Check all disturbed
connections for leaks using soap solution.
22. De-isolate the Level Switch
and put back on line equalising the level in the float chamber with the vessel.
23. Re-instate all bridle
valves.
24. Checks that the Alarm
annunciation has been accepted reset.
25. Replace switch cover
ensuring 'O' ring seal is in good condition.
26. ENSURE ANY OVERRIDE IS
REMOVED AND AUGUST SYSTEM RETURNED TO NORMAL MODE.
